On the Fifth Day of Green Chic

Chapter 4 - Dining and Drinking

Most of us can put our hands up when it comes to getting excited about food, myself included.  In chapter 4 of Green Chic we have Christie explain to her readers the greener and definitely chic options when it comes to dining in and out.

On my "To Do" list I have put down visiting the Pure Food and Wine restaurant in New York City.  From afar I have read reviews and oggled other bloggers pics on the restaurant which has only teased the taste buds.

First of all Pure Food and Wine was born from the Raw Food movement.  You may remember the Sex and the City gals giving it the thumbs down to their raw food experience (besides Samantha who if we all remember hooked up with the gorgeous Jerry "Smith" Jerrod from the restaurant).  But if you try gourmet raw un-cooking you may be pleasantly surprised and impressed not to mention introduced to the bountiful health benefits that come from including this way of eating into your diet.

So what might you be eating at Pure Food and Wine?

Well...for first course you may choose the Butter Lettuce Caesar Salad with Chocolate Balsamic Reduction.  For seconds it might be the Thai Coconut Noodles in Galangal Red Coconut Curry and saving the best for last (because as far as I'm concerned you can't go past dessert), the Trio of Dark Chocolate Coated Indian Spiced Ice Cream Treats.

Now if that didn't wet your whistle then perhaps these plated delights just might...

So who's who of eating raw?  The list includes Donna Karan, Woody Harrelson, Alicia Silverstone, Demi Moore, Sting and Jason Mraz (my personal fave) just to name a few.
