The Give Away Christmas Star

Catch a falling star an’ put it in your pocket,
Never let it fade away!
Catch a falling star an’ put it in your pocket,
Save it for a rainy day!
(Perry Como)

My beautiful friend Cas from Mumatopia has lovingly created this star for my next Vintage by Lou Lou Give Away. Cas is an experienced Birth Doula who compliments her business with a family and eco-friendly online shop. You will find on her Mumatopia shop everything from handcrafted sandwich wraps, gift tags, children's clothing to early parenting needs such as baby slings.

As to the above lyrics, though not typically a Christmas song, is from my all time favourite Christmas movie, Love Actually. Christmas should be a time for family, joy, laughter and love but just today from my own to others personal circumstances, I think we could all do with a bit of that shining light.

To make this Christmas Star your own simply leave a comment below about what the one thing is that makes your Christmas.

Give Away ends midnight tonight and posted by santa express tomorrow.

Lou xo

PS I am happy for overseas blog friends to be part of this but the star will only be there in time for Christmas next year xo

  3. Hello Louisa

I love the stars, how lovely!
One thing I love about christmas is the opportunity to be generous to those that don't have much. Our family don't give presents to each other but we do give away for those in need. I know you can do that any time but at Christmas the attention is often on gifts for your loved ones which is wonderful but I often wonder what families out there who don't have anything at this time feels.

  5. Christmas is forever a celebration of the birth of Jesus. The star is such a significant part of this and would be a special addition to any families decorating traditions.

    I just love it. ♥

  6. Hi Lou, What a lovely giveaway. Your friend is very clever. So hard to pick just one thing that is special isn't it? Of course spending time with family and friends and giving is top of the list. But I also love all the conversations you have with "strangers" or other shoppers when we are all out in the shops choosing gifts. I love it when people who you don't know stop and comment on your purchases or even help you choose something and I enjoy doing the same,it makes us realise we are all just the same and all part of this big world xx Katherine

  7. I love that all my extended family see each other so often during the year, Christmas day is just always happy and flows along nicely. We always know what everyone is bringing, you always know what to expect, and it's always full of fun and laughter.

    Merry Christmas Lou!

  9. It sounds like a cliche but really, I truly love being able to give things at Christmas. All year I collect Christmas ideas and gifts and put them away till December. The surprised and thrilled look on someone's face when they open their present is worth every minute of present searching. Part of this is being able to match gifts to people (ie something that they really want, need or something that is 'so them'). And of course, nothing beats the joy and excitement that my kids show when Christmas morning comes around and they open their gifts with such delight. The sounds of gasps and squeals is something that puts a Christmas smile on my face everytime!
